Justin’s Wing Sauce

My fabulous older brother, Justin (pictured below), shared with me this tasty, spicy wing sauce. He usually tosses chicken nuggets in the sauce, while I like to dip my nuggets. Either way, this wing sauce is easy to make and the perfect balance of hot and sweet.

Justin's Wing Sauce
Ingredients
- 4 TBSP Butter
- 1 Cup Frank's RedHot
- ½ Cup Ketchup
- ½ Cup Barbecue Sauce (Double check it is gluten free!)
- 1-2 tsp Black Pepper (To taste)
- 1-2 TBSP Honey (Optional, helps reduce spiciness)
Instructions
- Start by melting the butter in a medium sauce pan over medium-low heat.
- When butter is almost all melted, stir in Frank's RedHot, ketchup, and barbecue sauce.
- Add black pepper to taste.
- Continue to mix ingredients until combined and heated to desired temperature.
- If the sauce is too spicy, stir in honey one tablespoon at a time.
- Enjoy with with chicken wings, nuggets, or on top of your favorite burger.
Notes
- Some barbecue sauces are not gluten free. Most bbq sauces contain "Carmel Coloring" which could be a hidden form of gluten. Double check labels to be sure it is certified gluten free.
- My favorite brands of gluten free barbecue sauces:
- Sweet Baby Ray's (Justin's recommendation too)
- Stubb's Bar-B-Q
- G Hughes Sugar Free BBQ
